Richard Vaughan
Developer/Trainer/Technical Author
Richard is the director of Dodeca. He started programming in 1981, and has been a professional software developer since 1987, working primarily in the development of Windows applications and component products in C++.
He has been a lecturer in computing at London's Roehampton University, and since 1999 has supplied training, mentoring, consultancy and development services to Dodeca's clients in areas such as C++, JavaScript, AJAX, XML, UML, Design Patterns, object orientation, database design, and high-performance programming.
Richard has worked across the UK, as well as in Denmark, Iceland, Northern and Southern Ireland, Germany and Singapore. He has been published a number of times in periodicals such as Computing, Application Development Advisor, and Dr Dobbs Journal of Programming, and has also contributed to Visual Systems Journal. He has garnered an excellent reputation with Dodeca's clients, and corporations such as Airbus, Atos Origin and the BBC have sought him specifically for customised and bespoke services. Richard is a member of the ACM.
Paul Nelson
Developer/Trainer
Paul has worked in software for twenty years in the architecture, engineering and CAD industries, enjoyed a spell in publishing, and now develops web applications in ASP, PHP, X(HT)ML, JavaScript and SQL.
Recent projects have involved systems for project and time management, company contact list management and document management applications, as well as software for online discussion fora. Some of these applications are central to the operation of multinational construction companies, and Paul has travelled extensively in Europe and Asia, training clients in the use of these systems.
He is currently developing GUI based online frameworks, using AJAX and JSON techniques to implement flexible and scalable client-server applications.
Nilgün Öztürk
Turkish Translator/Translation Coordinator
Nilgün is a highly experienced interpreter and translator, and has a degree in international relations from the University of Istanbul, with additional qualifications in translation, interpreting and IT.
A seasoned traveller, Nilgün has lived and worked in the UK since 1990, and has been associated with Dodeca almost since the company's formation in 1999. With access to an extensive network of foreign language translators, she facilitates and coordinates the core of the company's technical translation service.
